By BBN Staff: Three (3) men namely, Tyrone Meighan, Brandon Baptist and Orel Leslie Jr., who walked away in October 2015 for the shooting murder of BDF soldier James Noralez, are to be retried for murder.

Noralez was reportedly lured by the men to the junction of the George Price Highway and Faber’s Road Extension where they allegedly shot him multiple times to the body.

Then trial judge, Troadio “John” Gonzalez, ruled that the three (3) accused men had no case to answer to before emphasizing that the prosecution relied only on circumstantial evidence obtained from an accused suspect.

On Tuesday of this week the Court of Appeal heard submissions made by the Director of Public Prosecution’s office in which it was requested that there be a retrial against the men.

Crown Counsel Sheneiza Smith submitted to the court that Gonzalez had erred in law by concluding that the evidence against the men was not enough to convict them.

The court agreed and ordered that the men be retried.

Meighan and Leslie were taken to prison while Baptist is already in the prison in connection with another incident.
