By BBN Staff: Area Representative for Caribbean Shores, Kareem Musa in his budget presentation today condemned the Prime Minister for stating that the re-registration exercise will cost tax payers $20 million whilst in 1997, the UDP Government carried out a re-registration exercise that only costed $3 million.
“If you can find $13 million to build a roundabout in Belmopan City, how can you not find $5 million to fix our voter registration list,” Musa told parliament.
Musa said that the UDP will attempt to steal the next general election using corrupt practices, hence the reason, the re-registration process has been set back .
Musa also stated that Former Minister of Natural Resources, Gaspar Vega has missed about 6 house meetings and continues to collect his salary and demanded that Vega be removed from office immediately.
“The PM had informed the people of Belize that over $70 million had been issued in land compensation and up to today, there is no lists made for the public to view who all received compensation for lands. People are fed up of this dictatorship ;they want their democracy back,” Musa said.
