By BBN Staff: Commissioner of Police, Allen Whylie, today released the national crime statistics as of December 18, 2017.
So far there have been 138 murders which was the same recorded for all of 2016.
The rape count currently stands at 22 compared to 23 in the previous year.
Last year, there were 235 cases of robbery compared to 232 the year before.
Cases of burglary have been reduced and stands at 732 down from 800 in 2016.
In terms of theft, there has also been a reduction from 857 in 2016 to 732 in 2017.
And finally, looking at unlawful sexual intercourse, there were 55 cases recorded for this year, significantly lower than last year.
When compared to last year, there has already been a 10% reduction in major crimes nationally.
