Four Belizeans busted with 57 pounds of weed and ammo

BBN Staff: Last night around 9:00, Corozal Police intercepted two vehicles at the northern border, heading back to Belize from Chetumal.

When police searched the vehicle, inside a spare wheel of the Ford Escape, cops found 24 parcels of suspected cannabis.

The Escape was being driven at the time by Blancaneaux Maudel. He was accompanied by Michelle Benguche.

The weed found amounted to a total of 44 pounds.

Police also found 28 .380 Aguila rounds of ammunition.

Police then searched the spare wheel of a Kia car and found 13 pounds of suspected cannabis.

The Kia was driven at the time by Kenyon Lewis who was accompanied by Phylmore King.

All four persons are  detained pending charges.
