Man shot dead in Belize City on a rainy night

BBN Staff:  A man was shot dead in Belize City earlier tonight despite heavy rainfall pouring down on the City’s streets.

Relatives have confirmed to BBN that Akeem “Ty” Vargas is the latest victim of gun violence in the old capital.

Details are at this time limited but we can confirm that Vargas was shot while on Wagner’s Lane in Belize City.

Sources tell BBN that the deceased has connections to Jump Street which is a stone’s throw away from where he was gunned down.

We note that Wagner’s Lane is considered George Street territory and that criminal elements of the George Street Gang (GSG) has been at odds with members of the Jump Street gang.

Police were on the scene and are expected to issue an official report later.
