Social Security donates $30,000 to Kidney Association of Belize

BBN Staff: Today, the Social Security Board (SSB) handed over a generous donation of $30,000 to the Kidney Association of Belize.

The kind donation was made possible through the SSB’s Ride across Belize fundraising initiative.

The donation will be used to assist those in the Belizean community in dire need of dialysis and contribute to the Association’s Education Awareness Campaign in the prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease.

Over the years, SSB has donated to the National Aids Commission, Youth Hostel, The Haven House and Help Age among many others.

The Ride Across Belize is a Social Security Board’s staff initiative with assistance from the community.

Its aim is to support charitable causes to enhance the development of Belize.

Ride Across Belize initiative started in 2004 when medical practitioners linked to the Social Security Board decided that the institution needs to do more in emphasizing the importance of healthy living.
