Belmopan Bandits issue statement on university students brawl

By BBN Staff:  Today, the management of the Belmopan Bandits Sports Club issued a statement indicating that it views with dismay the video of the incident that occurred last night between students of Galen and UB at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium.

The Belmopan Bandits inform that Norman Anderson who is a member of the Bandits Team was representing the University of Belize Football Team last night when he was involved in an altercation with a player from Galen University.

That altercation led to a physical confrontation involving team members and spectators. 

“ The Belmopan Bandits Sporting Club is a professional sporting organization committed to the principles of FIFA’s fair play, adhering to the Football Federation of Belize and the Belmopan Bandits Sporting Clubs code of ethics and as much as possible maintaining a community-based relationship,” the statement expressed.

The Bandits further inform that Anderson has accepted responsibility for his wrongdoing and will be suspended for 3 games effective immediately.
