Belize attends SICA meeting in Guatemala

By BBN Staff: Belize was among the countries represented at the meeting of the Central American Integration System (SICA) for its acronym in Spanish), hosted in Guatemala City.

The regional meeting began yesterday and the participants are expected to discuss a wide range of topics affecting the region including regional integration, institutional strengthening of the organization
and progress in the agreements adopted by the Central American Security Commission, migration, economic development, and investment.

SICA’s official website said that the participants are also expected to approve a memorandum of understanding for the establishment of the SICA Forum for Political Dialogue and Cooperation with the Republic of Turkey and the Kingdom of Morocco.

The meeting is a preamble to the summit of Heads of State and Government in June.
