UDP Orange Walk North standard bearer abruptly resigns

By BBN Staff: UDP Standard Bearer for Orange Walk North, Homero Novelo, tendered his resignation letter to the United Democratic Party (UDP) secretariat on September 9, 2019.

“I don’t want to be counted out for one day I may seek public office again,” Novelo stated.

Novelo said that his resignation was done for personal reasons.

He commends Prime Minister Dean Barrow for taking the UDP in the right direction for 3 terms.

Novelo’s resignation sparks more questions on the suspicion that former UDP Deputy Leader, Gaspar Vega, may be mounting a comeback effort.

Vega made an appearance at this year’s village council elections and in one video posted to social media he was heckled by voters.
