U-18 female volleyball medalists claim 7 individual awards as Belize wins Silver

By Aaron Humes: Belize is confirmed silver medalists in the 13th U-18 Central American Female Volleyball Championship.

Costa Rica defeated Guatemala in the final game to claim first place with an unbeaten record, while Honduras finished third.

The girls turned heads in Costa Rica and provided a worthy follow-up to the senior division’s 2nd place medals last year at home, also to Costa Rica.

Belize claims 7 Individual Awards: Gareth Bruce – Best Scorer and Best Attacker; Sofia Solano – Best Libero and Best Defensive Player; Iman Safa – Best Setter; Olivia McKenzie – Best Blocker 2; Jayda Smith – Best Receiver.

The Belize Volleyball Association sends its congratulations to the team and all athletes who won individual awards.
