By BBN Staff: Today the Belize Police Department detained five men for illegally crossing the western border.

Sometime around 4:00 p.m. officers caught the men returning into Belize via the Calla Creek Village area in the Cayo District.

They are Lazaro Santos, 42; Jorje Vasquez, 30; Luis Vasquez, 19; Jovani Salazar, 26; and Jose Luis Uck, 35. Police say that arrangements were made to have the men tested for COVID-19 at the San Ignacio Polyclinic and then they would be officially charged for entering the country illegally.
