Posted: Thursday, August 27, 2020. 7:01 am CST.

The National Meteorological Service of Belize (Met Service) says that relatively moist and unstable conditions are expected to set in today, as a tropical wave approaches the country.

The 24-hour forecast calls for cloudy skies at times with a few showers, isolated thunderstorms and periods of rain starting along the coast and spreading over most places later today, and increasing over the northern districts tonight.

Today’s temperature highs will range from 87 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 92 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 78 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 82 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 75 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 68 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

Winds will be gusty, blowing East-Southeast between 10-20 knots and the sea state will be moderate-rough.

“A small craft caution remains in effect for gusty winds and locally rough seas near heavy showers and thunderstorms,” the Met Service said.

Low tide will begin at 12:20 p.m. and high tide will come in at 6:47 p.m.

The sun will set at 6:09 p.m. and the moon will rise at 2:05 a.m.
