Senior policeman avoids serious injury in traffic mishap

By Aaron Humes: A senior police officer was involved in an accident on Thursday night. 

Police say that Assistant Superintendent of Police Jesus Cobb, deputy commander of Stann Creek Formation based in Dangriga, was heading home when he lost control of his vehicle on the George Price Highway. But he managed to avoid serious injuries. 

ASP Cobb was coming off duty and headed to the capital Belmopan when between miles 14 and 15 on the George Price Highway, he saw a motorcycle coming across the road in the other direction.

He swerved right to avoid hitting the person but lost control of the vehicle and overturned off the roadside, sustaining bodily injuries. He has been treated and released from the hospital.
