Plant a mahogany tree in your backyard for Earth Day!

Posted: Saturday, April 17, 2021. 1:54 pm CST.

By Zoila Palma: The Belize Audubon Society (BAS) announced that in commemoration of Earth Day on Tuesday, April 22, it will be hosting a mahogany tree giveaway.

The initiative is part of their ‘Greening Across Belize’ initiative.

The BAS says that 500 trees will be available and can be picked from either Guanacaste National Park, or the BAS head office in Belize City.

Anyone is welcome to collect a mahogany tree from any of the two (2) locations above. Trees will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis.

According to the BAS, you can #GreenBelize by planting our national tree in your own back yard!
