Suspect in San Pedro shooting still detained pending charges

By BBN Staff: The suspected shooter of 35-year-old Hilberto Sajid Caliz has still not been formally charged with any offense.

This morning Director of Communications for the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Assistant Superintendent Fitzroy Yearwood, explained that the suspect was detained shortly after Caliz was shot, but that investigators are still working the case and charges are expected to be brought soon.

Caliz was shot several times while he was headed home after 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 11.

Police say that, thus far, a motive for the crime has not been established.
