Prime Minister John Briceño to chair two upcoming high-level regional meetings

By Benjamin Flowers: Prime Minister John Briceño is set to chair two upcoming high-level meetings of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Central American Integration System (SICA) for its acronym Spanish).

Briceño, who assumed the rotating presidency of CARICOM in early January, the 33rd Intersessional Meeting of CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, scheduled for March 1-2 and then the CARICOM and SICA Leaders’ Summit immediately after on 3.

The meetings are expected to cover a wide range of topics such as regional integration, economic growth, nutrition, and food security, tourism in the region, and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on member countries, as well as recovery efforts underway.
