By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize Water Services (BWS) is advising residents in Santa Elena and San Ignacio that the BWS water tanker will be stationed at Falcon Field today, Monday, February 21, 2022, at around 11:15 AM to distribute water to residents affected by the ongoing water interruption.
BWS advised customers of Santa Elena and San Ignacio earlier of an unplanned water interruption in areas of the town all day Monday until 10:00 pm.
BWS said the water interruption is due to a broken water main, that its crews are working to repair the main and that water should be restored by 10:00 pm.
BWS reminded residents getting water from the BWS tanker that COVID-19 Safety Protocols such as social distancing and the proper use of face masks will be enforced.
The areas affected are: Downtown San Ignacio, the Simpson area from Sacred Heart College to Bullet Tree Road, Oscar Sabido area, New Area Santa Elena, and Bradley Bank
BWS said the company apologizes for the inconveniences caused by the interruption in the affected areas.
