“Bullet” dodges sexual assault charge against a minor after alleged victim’s mother drops case

Posted: Wednesday, March 16, 2022. 6:47 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: It has been four years since Belize City taxi driver, Roy “Bullet” Craig, was charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy, but today, Craig now 80 years old, walked out of court a free man.

Craig appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today for the state of his trial, only to learn that there would be no trial. In court, the prosecutor explained that the alleged victim, who reportedly suffers from mental issues, and his mother, were summoned by police to attend the trial commencement, but neither of them showed up in court.

The prosecution also told the Magistrate that, upon summoning the mother of the alleged victim, she told police that she does not want any further court action against Craig.

With that, the Magistrate dismissed the charges and Craig was free to go.

On Thursday, January 4, 2018, police say they went to a motel where they found Craig nude in a room with the alleged victim. Craig maintains that no such thing occurred.
