Accident between two motorcycles claims life of Faya Boyz Ruta Maya team member

By BBN Staff: There was a fatal motorcycle accident on Saturday in Santa Elena Town, Cayo district, and one of the victims did not survive.

The mid-morning accident happened on George Price Avenue near Arts Welding shop. Separate motorcycles driven by Nigel Ramirez and Isiah Sandoval were involved in the collision.

Eyewitnesses tell Breaking Belize News (BBN) that Sandoval was overtaking a vehicle on George Price Avenue when the head-on collision between the two motorcycles occurred.

Sandoval received severe injuries during the accident and died.

Notably, Sandoval participated in the Belikin La Ruta Maya Belize River Challenge last month. His team, Faya Boyz, has since issued a message of condolences on social media.

Meanwhile, Ramirez received a number of injuries including at least one broken limb. He was treated at the San Ignacio hospital and has since been released.
