Overtaking on the road was the cause of the Holy Saturday road traffic accident, police say

By BBN Staff: A man is dead following a road traffic accident on Holy Saturday between Miles 37 and 38 on the George Price Highway.

Police say that 41-year-old Juan Cocom was driving a Freightliner truck on the highway around 9:25 a.m. when a truck overtaking from the opposite direction collided with his.

The driver of the vehicle that was overtaking has since been identified as 54-year-old Guatemalan national Marco Tulio Aldana.

Aldana received severe injuries and died at the scene.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
