Belizean athlete, Arik Nicholas awarded basketball scholarship in California

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Belizean athlete, Arik Nicholas,21, has been awarded a basketball scholarship at the University of Antelope Valley in California, USA.

During an interview with Love News, Nicholas said that after finishing high school in Belize he was focused on moving to the United States in hopes of better opportunities for his sporting career.

Nicholas further shared that in 2019, he was playing basketball at an event when he was approached by members of the University of Antelope Valley who encouraged him to apply for a scholarship. He applied and was then awarded a basketball scholarship.

He encourages other young Belizean athletes to put in the work and be dedicated and focus on their dreams.
