BREAKING: Herman ‘Kaibil’ Valdez, well known San Ignacio Town Council employee, succumbs to injuries sustained in accident

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Council employee Herman ‘Kaibil’ Valdez who was knocked down in downtown San Ignacio on Monday morning has passed away.

Earlier Breaking Belize News (BBN) reported that Kaibil was discharging his regular cleanup duties in the downtown area, pushing his wheelbarrow, when he was knocked down by a dark blue SUV which lost control going down the hill. Kaibil was rushed to the San Ignacio Community Hospital where he reportedly died while being treated for his injuries.

The SUV crashed into another vehicle in the area before coming to a stop.

Kaibil, as he was called, was a very friendly and sociable man.
