Leader of the Opposition supports footballer pursuing studies in U.S.

By Aaron Humes: Jayda Brown is off to Campbellsville, Kentucky, on an athletic scholarship to pursue a Master’s in Management and Leadership while also playing football.

Brown, a National Women’s Team player, has received funds for her air travel from Leader of the Opposition Moses “Shyne” Barrow.

Jayda is one of 16 student-athletes who has received a scholarship through the Football Federation of Belize to study in the United States while continuing to play football.

She recently graduated from Galen University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.

In making the presentation Barrow wrote, “Her football mastery on the field has now allowed her the opportunity to further her education… [We wish] Jayda the best as she pursues a new chapter in both her educational and football career as she continues to make her parents, her community, and her country proud.”
