Women involved in brawl on Orange Street charged with disorderly conduct

Posted: Wednesday, August 17, 2022. 4:28 pm CST.

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Two women who were involved in a street fight that went viral on social media have been charged by police for the incident.

Shadine Baptist and Shania Dominguez appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, both charged with disorderly conduct.

Dominguez was inside a store at the corner of Orange Street and George Street last week, when Baptist approached her aggressively.

Personnel from the store asked Dominguez to leave, given the escalating level of the verbal altercation, and when she did, the two got into a fight that was later parted by a police officer and several bystanders.

In court they both pleaded not guilty and were granted bail in the sum of $500 each. They are due back in court on October 3.

Police did not file any charges against either woman for injuring the other, because neither of them filed a police report requesting action with respect to those injuries.
