Official Independence Day Ceremony getting underway in Belmopan

By Aaron Humes: The Official Independence Day ceremony is underway in Belmopan.

Prime Minister John Briceño will match up with opposite member Moses “Shyne” Barrow as Leader of the Opposition for the first time.

There will also be a speech from Belmopan Mayor Sheran Palacio and Co-Chair of the National Celebrations Commission Francis Fonseca.

Following these will be the usual cultural performances.

The usual post-ceremony parades and events return in Belmopan and countrywide after being canceled the last two years due to COVID-19.
