Father and son busted with weed; son takes charge so 73-year-old father can be set free

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 73-year-old man from Mahogany Heights and his son were arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s court this week for drug-related charges.

Fredrick Bradley and his son 33-year-old Elron Bradley appeared unrepresented in court, jointly charged with one count of possession of controlled drugs in relation to 54.2 grams of marijuana.

After the charges were read to them Elron Bradley pleaded guilty, saying that his father, who has a speech impediment, knew nothing of the marijuana.

For his early guilty plea, Bradley was fined $500 plus $5 cost of court which he must pay by February 28, 2023 or he will face five months in jail for default.

Police made the bust at their home on December 21.
