Special Envoy’s Wonder Woman is Artist, Jaqueline Ewens

This week’s highlight is on young Belizean artist, Jaqueline Ewens.

Ewens is a self-taught young Belizean artist.

She was born in Belize City in 2000.

Ever since a young age, she has been very passionate about art.

She began her art business in 2013 immediately after graduating from primary school.

In 2017, her business became more established under the name “Closed Eyes Art”.

In 2019, she became part of the Corozal Street Art Movement.

Her art was exhibited at the Museum of Belize and Corozal Community College open day in 2019.

“I use my artwork to create beautiful stationery and souvenir/gift products and provide many art services to my amazing clients.

My career has been finely crafted by a number of very supportive friends, family, and mentors. I am very grateful to be able to make a living through the artwork I create,” Ewens says.

“I have also had the opportunity to meet other great artists who share the same love for art through the Corozal Street Art Movement – CSAM. Through this group, I was introduced to spray painting and mural work. You can spot a couple of my practice murals around Corozal Town,” she added.

Jaqueline has also been featured in the 2020 Department of Youth Service’s Virtual Art Exhibition.
