Belize City man charged for rape on public street

By Aaron Humes: Police have announced the arrest of and charges against 21-year-old Rupert Codd, accused of raping a Belize City woman.

On Sunday, April 2 a woman reported to police that at about 3:00 a.m., while she was on her way to the hospital to seek medical attention, and she was walking on Belcan Bridge she saw a man on the opposite side of the bridge.

This man followed her onto Princess Margaret Drive where he caught up to her from behind, grabbed and assaulted her with a knife. He then pulled her to the side of the street where he raped her.
