Six Mexicans held on suspicion of ‘drug-related hit’

By Aaron Humes: According to multiple press reports and Commissioner of Police Chester Williams, six Mexican nationals have been detained in Corozal Town.

Reports suggest the group entered Belize with plans to kill a well-known drug figure in order to facilitate the taking over of his territory.

Mexican news outlet Informativo Chetumal identifies the men as belonging to the ‘Caborca’ cartel, involved in several shootings in Mexico.

The men reportedly used false documents to enter the country.
