Iguana Creek Bridge under water as heavy rains continue

Posted: Saturday, November 4, 2023. 7:33 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: Multiple readers have sent Breaking Belize News photos and video of the Iguana Creek Bridge, the primary entrance to Spanish Lookout in the Cayo District, under water.

Motorists and travelers in that area and elsewhere are urged to exercise caution as weather watches are in effect due to Invest AL97, which has made landfall in Nicaragua and is impacting all of Central America with heavy rains.

Rainfall, potential flooding and other issues are expected for tonight into Sunday and possibly Monday. We will continue to monitor and update the situation as necessary.
