Traffic accident reported on Thomas Vincent Ramos (Southern) Highway on Garifuna Settlement Day morning

By Aaron Humes: A traffic accident was reported early this morning at the Bocawina Curve on the Southern (Thomas Vincent Ramos) Highway just outside of Dangriga Town.

Traffic was backed up for at least a mile as seen on Facebook video shot by Mayor of Belmopan Sharon Palacio, who was among those caught up in the jam.

At least one person was injured but we have so far not been able to confirm if there were any other serious injuries in connection with the incident.

Police investigations are underway.
