Los Angeles to host first United States game in 2026 World Cup

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Los Angeles will host the first match in the United States in the 2026 World Cup at the SoFi Stadium on Friday, June 12.

FIFA made the announcement on Sunday.

The United States is the main host of the 2026 World Cup which it’s celebrating alongside the United States and Mexico. The United States will have 11 host venues while Mexico will have three and Canada has two.

The Azteca Stadium in Mexico City will host the first game of the 2026 World Cup in Mexico City on Thursday, June 11. The following day, Friday, June 12, will see Toronto host the first match in Canada at the Toronto BMO and Los Angeles host the first game in the United States at Sofi Stadium.
