By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Toronto will host the first match in Canada in the 2026 World Cup at the Toronto BMO Field on Friday, June 12. Canada will be hosting the World Cup alongside the United States and Mexico.

This is the first time Canada will host a World Cup. Five games will be played in Toronto and five in Vancouver, the other Canadian venue, in the first round.

FIFA made the announcement on Sunday.

The Azteca Stadium in Mexico City will host the first game of the 2026 World Cup in Mexico City on Thursday, June 11. Three games will be played at the Azteca Stadium, and four each at the Akron Stadium in Guadalajara and the Rayados Stadium in Monterrey in the first round.
