Sunday, June 21, 2015. BMG: A traffic accident on the Phillip Goldson Highway on Friday, June 19th, resulted in one man being taken to the hospital.
Police say that around 7:35p.m on Friday, officers responded to information of a Blue Toyota Corolla colliding into a trailer that was heading towards Corozal Town, between miles 77 and 78.
Garry Lee Hakes, a 77 year old retired American was driving a white Ford van, connected to a trailer that had a 20 foot boat, from Concepcion Village when the Toyota car driven by 38 year old Elizar Coc, collided into the left side of Hakes’ trailer.
Coc, a resident of San Narciso Village in the Corozal Distirct, was coming from the opposite direction when the accident occurred, causing damage to the car, trailer and Coc who had to be taken to the hospital after complaining of chest pain.
