Police bust almost 20 pounds of weed on bus

Wednesday, October 7, 2015.  BMG: Early this morning, Benque Viejo Del Carmen Police conducted a search at a routine vehicle-check-point on the George Price Highway that led them to a major drug bust.

BMG was made to understand that officers conducted a search on a D&E Bus heading towards San Ignacio Town.

Upon making checks to the rear of the bus, under an empty seat they discovered three knapsacks, which contained green leafy substance consistent to cannabis.
The suspected drugs was taken to the Benque Police Station and weighed which amounted to a total of 8,618.4 grams equivalent to 19 pounds of marijuana.

Since no one claimed the discovery the suspected cannabis was labelled as found property.
