By BBN Staff: A massive earthquake measuring at least 8.0 on the Richer Scale has struck southern Mexico.
According to Earthquake Track, it happened 17 minutes ago and shook Chiapas, Mexico and was felt in Belize, Guatemala as well as in Distrito Federal, Mexico.
The United States Geological Survey has confirmed the huge quake and residents in Mexico, Guatemala and Belize have taken to Twitter and Facebook to describe their homes shaking.
It is not yet clear if a tsunami warning will be issued.
