By BBN Staff: The conch season in Belize officially reopened yesterday.
The Wildlife Conservation Society reminds fishers of the regulations for the 2018-2019 Conch (Lobatus gigas, formerly Strombus gigas) season:
The closed season for conch is from July 1 – September 30, every year; unless otherwise stipulated by the Fisheries Department.
The Wildlife Conservation Society appeals to all fishers to help protect this important species and the fishing industry, by adhering to the regulations.
