“Nothing new in latest helicopter accident reports,” says National Security Minister

Posted: Wednesday, March 18, 2020. 5:37 pm CST.

By BBN Staff:  Minister of National Security, Michael Peyrefitte, announced today that two more reports on the helicopter crash are available, but that none of them add anything new to the report made by the Honduran Armed Forces.

Peyrefitte said that the Department of Civil Aviation prepared a report, and the Government of Belize also received one from Bell Helicopters, the company which manufactured the aircraft.

He stressed that, after reviewing all reports, there is no evidence to support the theory that the helicopter was shot down, noting that an autopsy was done on the bodies and there was no sign of firearm injuries.

He notes that, as a matter of procedure, those autopsy reports will not be made public.”We don’t want those pictures being shared on Facebook, to be honest,” Peyrefitte said.
