Police checkpoints to be removed from hot spots, patrols increased!

Posted: Wednesday, March 18, 2020. 2:26 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, today announced that checkpoints will be removed from crime-ridden communities.

According to Williams, criminal elements have used the presence of these checkpoints as added security from criminal rivals.

He added that they enjoy this security while they go into other communities to commit crimes.

According to the Commissioner, despite these checkpoints, several persons have been killed close to them.

He cited Taylor’s Alley as an example.

According to Williams, the officers assigned at checkpoints remain distracted by their phones and so he will sign a cell phone policy tomorrow limiting cell phone usage while on duty.

However, with the removal of permanent checkpoints, officers will instead be tasked with patrolling their assigned communities.
