By Aaron Humes: In his first appearance since going into quarantine at the end of March, Minister of Health Pablo Marin, says testing will not stop despite the current streak of 13 days without a positive case.
According to Marin, Belize is testing per capita more than our neighbors Mexico and Guatemala, but we have been mostly concentrating on front-line personnel and those close to the confirmed cases.
Marin warned that relaxing on social distancing regulations as in his own district where he saw a couple bathing in the sea would lead to congestion of the system.
He also made sure to give thanks to those front-line personnel and closed by stating that Belize is doing what is needed in terms of testing needs for the country.
