Man shot in Dangriga identified as Fredrick Coote; female also injured in incident

By BBN Staff: Last night we reported that a man was shot in the New Site area of Dangriga, Stann Creek.

He has since been identified as Fredrick Coote, 22. Coote was shot to the upper side of the right chest.

It turns out that a woman was also shot in the incident and received injuries to the upper right thigh.

She has been identified as Temara Nunez, 21.

Shortly after 8 o’clock the two were inside their wooden homes when shots rang out, injuring them.

Both Nunez and Coote were transported to the Southern Regional Hospital for treatment. Nunez was treated and released but Coote remains hospitalized in a stable condition.

Several persons have since been detained.
