By Aaron Humes: Director of Health Services Dr. Marvin Manzanero says Belizeans cannot let down their guard as the jump in cases is measured.

The Cayo District has two new cases, including one person working in Belmopan; Belize City three; Orange Walk three including one in Santa Martha village.

Eight frontline workers including three police officers are now sick, but it appears the majority did not get it while in the line of duty.

Director of Epidemiology Dr. Russell Manzanero confirmed that the country count is now at 114 cases: 54 females and 60 males. 32 cases are recovered and 80 are active, of which Orange Walk has 29 active cases, Corozal 15 and most of the rest in Ambergris Caye, with community spread in San Pedro Town.

The Ministry has been fielding calls from both Ambergris Caye and the North and are currently testing 200 samples collected up to Thursday, and continues to test and surveil through the weekend.

There are three main clusters of cases in San Pedro Town and contact tracing continues to make links, but if you are showing symptoms, even if you are not a direct contact, stay home and call 0-800-664-2273 to report to the Ministry your symptoms and receive counseling.
