Well known cowboy Kent Smith is latest COVID-19 victim

By BBN Staff: Breaking Belize News (BBN) has confirmed that another Belizean life has been lost to COVID-19.

Unitedville resident, Kent Smith, died this evening while receiving treatment at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.

Smith had been on a ventilator for around three weeks and at one point was showing signs of improvement before he eventually died from complications related to the virus.

Smith, who was in his late 50s, was known for being the champion of many rodeo competition held in both Belize and in nearby Peten, Guatemala. He was an annual fixture in the annual rodeo show hosted at the National Agriculture and Trade Show (NATS) and in his later years, Smith played an instrumental role in the organizing this national rodeo show.

BBN offers its sincere condolences to family and friends of Kent Smith. Rest in peace COWBOY.
