Man busted in Carmelita  with almost 12 kilos of weed

By BBN Staff: Police have arrested and charged a truck driver after he was caught last night with almost 12 kilograms of packaged marijuana.

Police found the drugs while conducting a stop and search on a freight truck at the Carmelita checkpoint around 10:30 p.m.

Looking at a disconnected fuel tank that was mounted under the driver’s side, the officers found a secret compartment that contained 22 parcels of marijuana.

The parcels weighed a combined 11.916 Kilograms.

Police charged the driver Thomas Bermudez, 35, for possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply to another.
