Over 46 million people recover from COVID as pandemic approaches first year

By BBN Staff: The COVID-19 global pandemic, which has taken center stage in 2020 is days away from completing its first year; in that time over 67 million people have caught the virus, but, over 46 million people have managed to recover from it.

Worldometer reports that as of 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2020, the recorded global infections for COVID-19 was over 67,25 million, with over1.53 million dying from the virus. Meanwhile, more than 46.5 million have recovered from it.

There are currently over 19.2 million active cases, with 105,937 (0.6 percent) of them being considered serious-critical.

The USA remains the hardest-hit country in the world with over 15.09 million confirmed cases and 288,576 deaths.

India, the second-hardest hit country by number of infections, has recorded over 9.67 million and 149,590 deaths.

Brazil, the third-hardest hit by number of infections, has recorded over 6.58 million cases. Brazil is notably the second-hardest hit country by way of deaths relating to the virus, with 176,721 people on record as dying from complications relating to COVID-19.

Belize has recorded 7,601 cases and 172 deaths.
