Several shootings reported across Belize City as countdown to New Year nears

By BBN Staff: Belize is hours away from beginning a new year; however, crime and violence continue to plague Belize City, with two more gunshot victims reported tonight.

Moments ago, a man, 54, and a woman, 56, were taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) with gunshot wounds.

The man was reportedly shot to the right hand and the woman to the right breast.

Residents in the Port Loyola area have also reported hearing as much as seven gunshots in the vicinity of Gill Street earlier tonight.
