U.S. Vice President to visit Mexico next month to discuss migration

By Zoila Palma: Today, Mexican President, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said that U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris will visit Mexico on June 8.

Harris has been tasked by the Biden Administration to lead U.S. efforts to stem migration from Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala – to stop migrants from crossing into the United States.

“We have to regulate migratory flows and we must address the (root) causes, and this means there must be jobs and hope for the people in the southeast of Mexico and Central America,” Lopez Obrador said.

Harris also indicated that she will meet virtually with Lopez Obrador and then visit Mexico in a month’s time.
