By Zoila Palma: Today, the Nurses’ Association of Belize (NAB) issued a statement informing the Government of Belize that it stand in full support of the joint unions and that after polling the nurses body, it stands ready for industrial action.
NAB noted that 99 percent of respondents said that they are against any salary cut.
In their release, NAB listed out other ways in which the government can save money.
NAB says that if these points are not accepted and an all-inclusive plan is not established to repair the economy of the country, the association will stand ‘against the injustice being perpetuated against public officers and this country.’
“Successive Governments have only bestowed pain and suffering upon this nation through reckless borrowing, spending and pillaging of the people’s resources; it stops now,” the association said.
