COVID-19 Watch: Belize City the big concern with 22 new cases

By Aaron Humes: The Old Capital, Belize City, remains the big concern with six times as many new cases as any reporting area in today’s Ministry of Health and Wellness COVID-19 data.

In all 22 cases have been reported, believed to be located mostly in the Southside.

Cases in the Belize District were also reported in Crooked Tree (2), Burrell Boom, Ladyville, Hattieville and Sandhill.

The Ministry of Health has said it is closely monitoring the situation but has not recommended lockdown yet.

San Pedro Town also has one new case.

Orange Walk Town added four new cases, San Ignacio three and Santa Cruz, Toledo District two.

Other cases were reported in Chunox and San Joaquin, Corozal District; San Jose Palmar and Trial Farm, Orange Walk District; Benque Viejo Town, Cayo District; Independence, Placencia, and Sittee River, Stann Creek District and Big Falls, Toledo District.
