Belize Tourism Board sends condolences to family of “Chef Alejandro” on his passing

By Aaron Humes: The leading tourism limelights have sent their condolences on the passing of culinary and tourism pioneer Mario “Chef” Alejandro Mendez Rivera.

The Board statement says, “Chef Alejandro was a renowned figure in Belize’s hospitality sector who was admired for his talent and professionalism. He served for many years as the executive chef at the Lodge at Chaa Creek. In 2015, he became the proud owner and executive chef at Crave House of Flavours in San Ignacio, Cayo which he positioned as one of the best places to eat in the area.”

It describes him as “skillful and knowledgeable in the culinary arts… a very humble person with a charismatic personality. He had a passion for food and brought his creativity and personality to each dish that he created and served.”

May he rest in peace.
